ORMC’s Diabetes Self-Management and Education Program (DSME) has recently renewed its status as an accredited diabetes education program by the American Association of Diabetes Educators (AADE), a National Accredited Organization, certified by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. 2/17/2015ORMC Wins Statewide Patient Safety Award for Improvement in ICU CareThe Partnership for Health and Accountability (PHA) presented its prestigious Quality and Patient Safety Award to Oconee Regional Medical Center for its project that improved quality of care in the intensive care unit (ICU). The project, titled “It Matters: Right Location, Right Care, Right Physician – Best Outcome” won third place in the Hospitals with 100 to 299 Beds category. 1/15/2015Flu Season Youth Visitation RestrictionsOconee Regional Medical Center in Milledgeville, and Jasper Memorial Hospital in Monticello, announced today the implementation of a youth visitation policy for the protection of patients, visitors, and hospital staff. Goodrich M.D. Endowed Healthcare Scholarship in honor of an extraordinary physician who valued offering financial assistance to those entering healthcare. The guidelines to be used by the Advisory Board of the Scholarship Fund are: 1. Recipients must be enrolled in a healthcare or healthcare-related field of study. 2. A minimum of two years toward a program should be completed to demonstrate commitment to the particular field of study for undergraduate programs. All graduate program students meet this qualification. 3.
